Product Description for Stainless Steel Rope Grab w/ built in Shock Absorber and Carabiner

Description

Stainless Steel Rope Grab Assembly | Integrated Fall Arrester

This integrated fall arrest assembly provides a seamless connection between the climber’s harness and a vertical or inclined 8mm wire rope. Combining a precision-engineered rope grab with a built-in shock-absorbing tether, this unit ensures immediate locking during a fall event while significantly attenuating impact forces on the user.

Key Features & Safety Mechanisms

  • Integrated Shock-Absorbing Tether: The rope grab is permanently linked to an alloy steel karabiner via a PVC-coated stainless steel wire sling. This “ready-to-use” configuration eliminates the risk of using incompatible components.

  • Automatic Locking System: Designed for hands-free operation, the device glides freely during normal ascent and descent but engages instantly to lock onto the cable the moment a downward acceleration or fall is detected.

  • Anti-Inversion & Fail-Safe Design: Features a simple yet secure opening and closing mechanism that allows for easy attachment to the lifeline while preventing accidental detachment.

  • Optimized Compatibility: Specifically calibrated for use with 8mm (5/16″) 7×19 Stainless Steel Wire Rope.

Operational Advantage

By utilizing a PVC-coated stainless steel wire for the link, this assembly offers enhanced durability compared to standard textile lanyards, particularly in abrasive or “hot work” environments where sparks or sharp edges may be present. The polished 316 steel finish ensures that the device remains easy to clean and inspect, maintaining high performance over a long service life.
